Using the Standard Error of the Difference
Improving decisions based on tests We often want to discriminate between scores to see if one person has performed better than another, or to see which of two tests an individual has done best on. The Standard Error of the Difference (SEdiff) can be used to answer these questions, but you may not always have the time to calculate and then to apply the SEdiff. This spreadsheet can be used to do this to help improve your selection and development decisions.
Use the first spreadsheet, 2 people, same test, if you want to find out if two people's scores on the same test are significantly different. Use the second spreadsheet, 1 person, 2 tests, if you want to find out if a person has done significantly better on one test than on another. |
