Your organisation needs you! Five top tips for improving communication during change

In an economic downturn, the relationships that lie at the heart of organisational life are under threat. Employees are handling increased instability in their industry and in their own jobs; resources are often stretched to the limit, and busy managers struggle to find the time to motivate and inspire.

More than ever, it is important for organisations to retain rather than re-train. In this fraught environment, the MBTI® instrument can be a lifeline. Its template for individually tuned communication is a first-rate way to inspire employees with the confidence they need to excel in their jobs - even in tough times.

New report launches 1 October: 16PF Management Potential Report

Promotion decisions and transitions into leadership roles at any level can be difficult, and carry risk for the individual and the organisation. High performance in your current role, as we all know, does not guarantee success at the next level. Often, a different mindset and new skills are needed - as well as greater resilience.

This new report on OPPassessment helps you manage these challenges. It measures and evaluates personality characteristics relevant to management, such as leadership style, decision-making approach and initiative. Use the report to gain a vivid picture of how an individual will behave in line-management and leadership situations, and as a springboard for encouraging improvement - and take some of the risk out of important promotion decisions and transitions.

View a sample report [pdf] and find out how you can gain access to the 16PF instrument.

Conscious Competence - embed your MBTI learning with the help of experts and the MBTI community

OPP®'s new continuing professional development (CPD) offering MBTI Conscious Competence has been developed in response to customer feedback about your experience as a practitioner post-qualification. Leaving the warmth, support and fun of the training room and being unleashed onto the big wide world can be a pretty daunting experience, which is why OPP have come up with a three-part support programme for MBTI practitioners:

  • myMBTI is a one-to-one, 90-minute phone session with an experienced OPP consultant that is designed to coach you through your preparation for your use of the MBTI tool. The session is totally tailored to your requirements, desires and success criteria.
  • MBTItogether is a two-day collaboration between you and an OPP consultant where you work in tandem to design and deliver your own MBTI workshop. The consultant will co-design and co-facilitate your event and give you developmental feedback so that you can deliver independently with confidence.
  • MBTIbitesize is a half-day professional development event facilitated by an OPP consultant, where you have the chance to meet and exchange ideas with other qualified practitioners. The session is structured around a set of bite-sized applications that help you bring meaningful context to MBTI interventions.
