Welcome to the summer issue of OPPinions. In this issue, we’re focused on helping you build your HR toolkit.
Many of the challenges that managers have had to face in the last twelve months have been so different from anything they’ve seen in the last 10 years that they’ve struggled to learn, perform and lead at the same time. Challenges such as managing for profit, rather than growth, and, as a consequence, having to cut costs in their businesses, deliver service and results on a shoe-string while keeping people engaged through regular instalments of bad news.
Tough going, then, for managers – but their struggles are minor compared to what’s been required of HR professionals. With L&D budgets slashed, recruitment frozen and redundancy a constant spectre in many businesses, they have had to find new ways of keeping ‘the people agenda’ somewhere near the top of the corporate priority list.
So ingenuity is called for to keep building that coaching culture to which we’re all committed, and to maintain support for that team development which drives performance and loyalty. It’s down to you, and what you can weave in to business-as-usual and absorb into minimum time off-the-job.
Of course, we would say that MBTI, 16PF and FIRO-B expertise offers a low-cost, high impact and hugely versatile answer to the ‘how to do more with much less’ dilemma. Our customers agree - read the latest case study on MBTI, 16PF and FIRO-B to see how these three tools can help you re-engage your people. And, with the current summer sale, qualifications for these tools are at your fingertips!

Case study: NHS Trust incorporates 16PF®, FIRO-B® and MBTI®
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) is a branch of the NHS which provides a comprehensive range of acute, maternity and child health services to a population of 280,000 living in the area. Within the trust, the Workforce and Service Development team are responsible for developing new ways of working.
In 2008, when they began to refresh their people focus, they knew that psychometrics could act as a foundation block to underpin and help manage this change. They saw psychometric tools as providing a consistent platform across the organisation for development, coaching, and team building as well as improving recruitment and selection practices to hire better fit to role, especially for senior positions.
To meet all of these needs, the Trust chose a combination of three of the most widely used, valid and reliable instruments available: the MBTI® personality questionnaire, the FIRO-B® instrument and the 16PF® personality questionnaire.

Expert reports – more bang for your buck!
Looking to save a few extra pounds and buy a lot of extra time this quarter? This new white paper is focused on computer-generated reports versus hand-written reports. It illustrates how computer-generated reports can improve your ability to consistently interpret results, communicate derived scores, and avoid bias during feedback sessions.
The expert reports ultimately give you more flexibility, and as a result, provide you with more time to devote to your individual respondent feedback sessions.
