Why did you join OPP®?
I joined OPP® in February 2004 as a Sales Coordinator for the Benelux office in Amsterdam. I was only the second person to join the Amsterdam office and so helped to build up the company in the Benelux region. I enjoyed seeing immediate results and playing a pioneering role. I also enjoyed the international focus of the organisation - I have a MA in European Studies from the University of Amsterdam and so relished the opportunity to use my French language skills for our Belgium office.
What does your role involve?
My role has now developed from a Sales Coordinator position, where I was mainly involved in training coordination, into a Marketing and PR role. I get involved in a broad spectrum of activities for the Benelux region, including organising exhibitions and networking events, writing press releases and content for newsletters, arranging sponsorship of events and managing our marketing budget. It is my responsibility to look for new ways to promote OPP's products and services across the Benelux area, in both Dutch and French.
What do you love about working for OPP?
I enjoy working collaboratively with international colleagues. I also love that OPP's products are all about people. It is very rewarding to be able to inspire and encourage others to develop and grow both personally and professionally. I appreciate the freedom I have to find out new things and to pioneer. Every day is different and full of variety.
What development opportunities have you had?
I have been supported through my Level A certification and MBTI® Qualification, and spent time observing and providing MBTI feedback on training courses. OPP has also given me the opportunity to attend a Commercial Effectiveness course. I am now attending a Media Training course and will be coached on PR activities. |
